Food is such an emotional issue! I'm thinking you'll feel better when you feel like you're more in control, both with what you're eating and the allotment. Take good care, Joy. I think you're right to get back into healthier ways, as it will help you cope, but with a dose of tolerance if it doesn't always go quite right. A few moments of gratification, then an hour or two later the stomach ache sets in, and the next morning my joints are aching like mad, and then I wish I hadn't done it. I end up wondering whether a few minutes' pleasure is really worth hours of suffering - no it usually isn't. I hope you can manage to get home and lose yourself in a few hours at the allotment - don't overdo it though! xxSoozehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03762391472811785736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5648310406783744033.post-91953166014908109722019-03-29T07:47:02.765+00:002019-03-29T07:47:02.765+00:00Good point about the allotment, Diane, thank you. ...Good point about the allotment, Diane, thank you. You're absolutely right.
I think some hard physical effort in the fresh air will clear my brain and be very good for me though. As the poem goes:
The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
Whether or not you have a religious faith, the meaning behind those words has some validity - it's a back to basics thing, isn't it?

As I said above to Jules, I think I need to regain control for my own well being. I'm not talking about going nuts, I'm just meaning that I need to fuel myself properly again. I can feel the difference both mentally and emotionally as well as physically this week and it's not helping, not at all. I'm stronger when I eat properly, I know that and it's time to do so again.
I know the stress is great but I don't think the extra calories burnt will compensate < grin >! I'll know the worst when I get on my scales on Monday!

I've been talking to myself in this reply! :-) I hope it makes sense.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16116524003944939298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5648310406783744033.post-5653187632677276202019-03-29T07:37:08.503+00:002019-03-29T07:37:08.503+00:00I've slumped this last week and, to be honest,...I've slumped this last week and, to be honest, it has done me no good at all. Een the 'comfort' is very short lived and unsatisfying. Time to wake up and stop damaging myself! It's as much a mental thing as a physical thing.
xxJoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16116524003944939298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5648310406783744033.post-27352177107943212472019-03-29T07:14:34.701+00:002019-03-29T07:14:34.701+00:00The one saving grace about gardening is you always...The one saving grace about gardening is you always get another chance and the same applies to healthy eating your body will always give you a second chance so nothing is ever really lost. Some times these things have to be put on hold while you deal with more important things so don't beat yourself up just yet. Everything will soon be back on track this is just a hiccup not a disaster besides stress burns calories!!!!Diane Eppshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02227325305615990424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5648310406783744033.post-19612290261275301932019-03-29T07:06:26.561+00:002019-03-29T07:06:26.561+00:00Don't worry too much about eating healthily at...Don't worry too much about eating healthily at the moment.
