Crumbly and soft rather than dry and hard. Heavier to dig, mind you, but how we needed some good rain!<br /><br />I've never had a clematis there - could they self seed in some way? I've just googled to look at some pictures of young plants and some don't have lobed leaves so you never know. My hos...Always a pleasure to see your garden grow!<br /><br />My hostas have already been nibbled badly this year, they were at them as soon as they started to poke out of the soil!! Grrr, I think I'm going to get rid as it's a constant battle without much pleasure.<br /><br />Not sure about the passion flower, I think the leaves are lobed, i.e. hands of 3 or 5 fingers. Maybe it's too early to tell. Could it be a clematis,I wonder?Annabethnoreply@blogger.com
